Search Engine Optimization and Submission Facts

www.eprosecrets.com       Navigation

Bringing potential customers to your business website is an ongoing task, not a single decisive event. First you need to ensure that your pages are adequately "Optimized" for the search engine robots which index the internet. This means that the content is written so as to be 'robot friendly'. You can achieve this crucial first step by double checking your keywords for an ideal balance of keywords. Above all else, make sure that these keywords are also in your 'title tag' which is that text that you can see at the top of the page. The title is probably the most critical part of your site from an optimization standpoint. Meta tags are of less priority now as compared to the other parts of your site, yet it is still a good idea to include your primary keywords there in any event.

The description tag is a little more important than the keyword tags but still much less relevent than the title tag. But write a good description since this is the portion many people will see in the search results. When creating your 'Alt' tags for your gif's and jpeg's, be extra sure you do not place too many keywords there since the search engines appear to be getting wise to this seo method and might possibly penalize your page for it. So check yourself before you wreck yourself as the song goes. It is of paramount importance to have your site well-optimized before actual submission. Some web designers attempt to optimize each seperate page for each major index, but I would advise against this practice. Some medium-ranking engines like Teoma are just not worth your while to optimize for considering the low quantity of traffic they produce. Also, never optimize your sales or order page in attempt to get that page higher in the rankings because it's main purpose is to be compelling to potential buyers. You also need to be especially careful with the body of your web document. Usually you should feature some seven hundred words or so, if at all possible. More as often better when it comes to body text. The engines love a lot of keyword rich text. Optimization is critical to your success because your site is out there does not always mean you are going to get many visitors.

When designing your html (hyper text markup language) pages, be extremely sparing with java, flash and frames as most if not all search engine have difficulty picking it up. Some internet marketers researched this topic and discovered that having a website created with Flash decreased the response rate from potential customers by nearly four hundred percent. So whether the Engines recognize flash pages or not, you might just decide not to use Flash for other paractical reasons. Many internet users are newbies who have yet to install a flash player before.

You should also be somewhat wary of images when making your site map. If your site navigation utilizes image links, add text links so that Googlebot and other important robots can access all of your your pages. After you have optimized your html code, the next step on the list is to submit them. You can do this by going to the "Add website" link or button of each search engine and directory you desire to be added to. It is best to do this yourself in my opinion because each engine has it's own individualized instructions to follow. In many cases you may submit just your main url (Uniform Resource Locator) and the rest of the website will be spidered as it follows all the links.
